No panic coffee @ Paniglgasse
If Apple would create its own branded coffee shop, it would be No panic. A place where a coffee roaster embraces capitalism with the calibrated customer targeting manifested in every design decision. A big open space with the slick interior and abstract artworks is here to impress youngsters looking for trendy locations. The seats next to the windows feature sockets, but no tables: they are here for tourists and bloggers who want to charge phones and take a pic while taking a sip of latte. The big table stands for yuppies, who need to land their laptop somewhere. The menu is an epitome to minimalism that manages to hit all checkboxes in our list.
So yes, it is great by all means and metrics. It is just one thing one misses there, which is hard to grasp. Maybe it is the soul?
Pros:
- Easy to reach: next to U1 and U4 Karlsplatz
- Suitable for group work
- Tall ceilings and windows
Cons:
- Closes a little earlier than other coffee shops
- The crew looked tired upon the visit (that was in the evening just before closing)
- Windows seats have sockets but not proper tables
- Limited number of seats considering the space
- Sweets and food choice quite limited
